FAQ
Do you have any suggestions from a handyman on how to improve your home?
Absolutely! Handyman training is in all areas of home repairs and maintenance. A handyman is able to identify what needs fixing and what can be left alone. Don't be afraid to ask for help whenever you need it.
Is it better to pay a handyman on an hourly basis or per-project basis?
It comes down to personal preference. Some prefer to pay their handyman by the hour. This allows them to see exactly what they charge. Others prefer to be paid for each job completed, since they may need multiple jobs at the same time. It doesn't matter which way you go, it works great.
Is it cheaper to hire handyman than general contractors for the same job?
Yes! Yes! This is especially true when you've never had a contractor complete a task before. Handymen can also speed up the completion time of projects because they are skilled at completing specific tasks faster and more efficiently.
Why should I hire a handyman instead of doing it myself?
Hiring a handyman will save you both time and cash. Not only will you save time, but you also avoid the hassle of hiring another person. Hire a handyman to help you with your job.

How To
How to replace a broken window
One of the most popular home improvement projects is to replace broken windows. The job involves repairing the damage done to the glass in your home. Repair work in this instance should take no more than 30 minutes. But if you do not know how to replace a broken pane of glass, then you risk causing further damage to the house. This article provides some tips on replacing a broken window.
First, remove the old glass from its frame
First, take out all the screws that are holding the glass in place. Then undo the lock at the top center of the bottom section of the window frame. Next, lift the window upwards so it isn’t attached to sill plates (the metal bars below the floor). Use a pry to loosen any remaining screws. Clean the panes thoroughly after they are taken out.
Second step: Clean the new glass
Use a dry paper towel or cloth to remove any dirt from the glass. A spray bottle filled with water, rubbing alcohol and water can be used to clean debris stuck beneath the glass.
Third Step: Reinstall the replacement glass
Attach the window frames to the panes. Begin by gently pressing down on one end of the outermost panel with the tip a screwdriver. Gently push back the pane into place in the opening. After moving to the next one, push it firmly against your previous one before you reattach it. Continue inserting the panes until the entire window is assembled. Seal the area where the panes meet with silicone caulk gun.
Fourth step: Repair any damage.
When installing the new glass, inspect the area around the hole to determine whether any additional repairs are needed. Install two pieces of small wood on each side of any hole if the break was near the corner. These wooden blocks will strengthen the window while acting as spacers for the glass during expansion and contraction of the weatherproofing.
Fifth Step: Seal the repaired area
After the glass has had to be replaced, apply silicone caulking at the perimeter edges. This will create a good seal between the glass and the surrounding wallboard. You can find silicone caulking in hardware stores and online. You should choose a color to match the wall paint.
Let the caulking dry overnight. Do not disturb the caulking until it has hardened completely. You may crack the caulking by not waiting long enough.
